Treatment 201 – RoboCop the 3rd

robert-john-burke-as-robocop-in-robocop-3

The third week of Thanks But No Thanks, on the tails of Marc’s triumphant return, finds the fellas with the Ghost of Don Pardo, discovering what the heart truly wants, fumbling with math, song names and Police Academy sequel titles, all in service of Kirk’s pick…

RoboCop 3!

Wrestler count this week: 1, Sting. Fried chicken commercial count: 1, RoboCop.

Kirk invents a new species of robutt!

Doug reboots every movie soundtrack ever!

Matt reveals the white man’s devil’s secret weakness!

Next week: No surprise this time, as Marc McDonald returns with his TBNT pick, The NeverEnding Story!!!

Treatment 136 – Rockford Files & Kolchak:The Night Stalker

SummerRerunsLike all summer vacations, even the very best must come to an end. Yes, this is the last of our Summer Reruns series. But, don’t worry, because we’re ending on a high note with two classic TV shows!

The Rockford Files & Kolchak: The Night Stalker

We’re watching The Hammer of C Block (TRF), and Mr. R.I.N.G. (K:TNS) episodes of our chosen shows. One show is just too awesome not to cover, and the other is too amazing (and popular) not to revisit! Yep, James Garner and Gavin McDavin are in a battle for the hearts of the Schlock Jocks, and they both win…big time!

THRILL… as Marc slips more controversial humor into the show (it wasn’t intentional)!!!

GASP… when Kirk reveals he married a shotgun!!!

SWOON… when Matt makes an unexpected exit, and Doug reveals the he’s the room-leaving-for-peeing guy!!!

You can find both The Rockford Files and Kolchak: The Night Stalker on Netflix Instant. So, what are you waiting for? Go watch them! They’re both GREAT! Also, get your ass to iTunes and rate the podcast and subscribe now please!

Next Week: We’re back to the big screen, with an action flick featuring the great Hulk Hogan! It’s The Ultimate Weapon!

Treatment 134 – Battlestar Galactica 78 / Star Trek:TOS

SummerRerunsIt’s week two of our month-long television extravaganza that we’re calling Summer Reruns! Yes, we’re watching the cheesiest episodes of some of the funnest TV shows of the 60s, 70s, and 80s!

Battlestar Galactica 78 / Star Trek:TOS

Battlestar turns out to be a bit of a snore-fest, as we watch Baltar’s Escape from Season 1. Though some of us are surprised that it takes itself a bit more seriously than we expected! Then we swing into high gear, with the Season 1 Star Trek:TOS episode Devil in the Dark!

TRANSPORT… yourself, as Matt kick’s off the first ever episode of Cool Sandwich Bros, and Marc reveals what his gym teacher used to call him in Junior High!!!

WARP… your reality into one that’s slightly better, when Doug reads the listeners’ favorite TV Show themes, and much bad singing ensues!!!

NAVIGATE… the amazing course of a Schlock Treatment conversation, as Kirk actually tries to write material, Matt starts talking about chickens, the characters of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether are brought about, and Doug drops some Robear Burble knowledge!!

Both of these shows are streaming on Netflix, so you can always catch them there. Also, please do us a favor and head over to iTunes and rate the podcast for us! We’re fighting for listeners, and we’re right on the edge of the iTunes store charts!

Next Week: More Summer Reruns, but this time in the form of cartoons! We’re talking GI Joe (Once Upon a Joe), and Jem and the Holograms (Journey Through Time)!!!

Treatment 115 – Solarbabies

SolarbabiesOkay, so we slipped a bit last week. But don’t worry, because this week we are back on form (though minus one). And we jump back into the swing of things with a heaping helping of kid glurge in the shape of…

Solarbabies!

It’s a post-apocalyptic feel-good bit of cheese with a cast of thousands of wonderful character actors like Terrence Mann, Sarah Douglas, Charles Durning, Richard Jordan, and even Peter DeLuise! Oh, yeah…it also has Jaime Gertz, Adrian Pasdar and Jason Patric.

SKATE…your way back into the swing of things, as Marc and Matt reunite against their common enemy, Kirk!!!

ROLL… your eyes as Marc manages to confuse Shelley Duvall for Shelly Long for the entire podcast!!!

SCORE…big time, as Doug coins the new term: Dawson’s Creeking!!!

Solarbabies is currently streaming on Netflix, and we advise caution. It’s also free for Prime Members on Amazon, if you’re one of those. Check our store to find a link. When you’re done there, be sure to head to iTunes and subscribe to the podcast there! Also, if you’re a Stitcher user, we have a link to our show to the right!

Next Week: We’re taking on TV yet again! This time it’s the pilot film for the TV Show, AIRWOLF! So, don’t miss it!

Treatment 100!!! – She (revisited)

It’s finally here!

Sandy did her darnedest, and managed to delay us a week. We’ve fought power outages, flooding, gas shortages, and all pop-tart diets. But, now, finally we are back and bringing you a very special 100th Episode! Special in the sense that we’re covering a movie we already covered once. That’s special, right?

She

Yes, She was the very first film we covered. You can still find that episode (and part 2, episode 2) here on the website, but we don’t recommend it. It’s long and rambling, and the audio is horrifyingly bad! She, on the other hand, is amazingly good! We call it one of the best schlock movies of all time!

REMINISCE… with the guys, as they talk about their early effort at covering the film, and Matt aptly compares it to the KTMA season of MST3k!!!

BUILD… on the legend that is Schlock Treatment with several new running gags, and soon-to-be-call-backs!!!

CELEBRATE… 100 episodes of rambling podcasting, as we derail yet another episode, this time with a meandering discussion about Yes and chess!!!

She is (still) available on Netflix, even after all this time! We encourage you to check it out, since it’s hilarious. It’s probably still available in our store, even! Also, please head to iTunes and write us a review! It should be your 100th episode gift to us!

Next Treatment: We kick off our second hundred episodes with something different, by heading back to the small screen! Be sure to check out Episodes 5 & 6 of MacGyver Season 1, now streaming on Netflix!!!

Treatment 89 – Starcrash

Once in a while, we run across a truly schlocky film. This is one of those whiles. This week’s movie finds Kirk missing in action, but Matt makes a comeback. And he picked a good movie to make a comeback for!

Starcrash

This is a Barbarella and Star Wars mash-up from an Italian studio. So you know it must be good. On top of that, it has Caroline Munro and David Hasselhoff! Not sold yet? Okay, how about a green Telly Savales? What about a robot that talks like a dumb cracker? What about a plot that is totally stream of consciousness?

GASP… with horror, as the guys engage in a large amount of stereotyping as they discuss the name of one of the ships in the film!!!

SWOON… as Matt does his best Crash Test Dummies impression, and Doug and Marc discuss what artists might have helped the soundtrack of this movie!!!

THRILL… as the guys talk about dressing for prison, Captain MacGuffin, spaceship decor, Edith Bunker, and what kind of robots make the best companions for the ladies!!!

You can find Starcrash streaming on Netflix, and we recommend that you do find it…it’s crazy! If you have a hankerin’ for a DVD of this film, you can find it in our store! Then, be sure to head over to iTunes, and write us a review! Then, subscribe to the podcast for next week’s episode!

Next Treatment: We stick with the serious schlock, and watch Deathsport, starring David Carradine!!
