Treatment 160 – Truck Turner

MackTruckTurnerAwwwww yeah, it’s time for some Schloxploitation! Yep, it’s Febuary, and in honor of Black History Month, we’re covering all African-American films from the 1970s (sometimes collectively referred to as Blaxploitation films). And we’re starting it off right with a great film featuring some of our favorite black actors, like Yaphet Kotto, Nichelle Nichols, and Isaac Hayes!!

Truck Turner

This flick has all the requisite blaxploitation ingredients, like goofy pimp outfits, but still manages to just be an excellent action film! There’s drama, intrigue, action, suspense, and badassery!

This week on the show: Doug finally gets to use his “Scott Bakula” joke in association with the film Blackula, despite the fact that we can no longer cover Blackula. Marc is sick, and coughs a lot. Kirk botches his David Bowie impression. And Matt does his “Rockfish”, “Jackie Chan & Owen Wilson”, and “Marc is from Germany” bits………..again.

Next Week: Schloxploitation month continues, this time with special guest Jon Cross from The After Movie Diner Podcast, to discuss Pam Grier in Friday Foster!!!

Treatment 136 – Rockford Files & Kolchak:The Night Stalker

SummerRerunsLike all summer vacations, even the very best must come to an end. Yes, this is the last of our Summer Reruns series. But, don’t worry, because we’re ending on a high note with two classic TV shows!

The Rockford Files & Kolchak: The Night Stalker

We’re watching The Hammer of C Block (TRF), and Mr. R.I.N.G. (K:TNS) episodes of our chosen shows. One show is just too awesome not to cover, and the other is too amazing (and popular) not to revisit! Yep, James Garner and Gavin McDavin are in a battle for the hearts of the Schlock Jocks, and they both win…big time!

THRILL… as Marc slips more controversial humor into the show (it wasn’t intentional)!!!

GASP… when Kirk reveals he married a shotgun!!!

SWOON… when Matt makes an unexpected exit, and Doug reveals the he’s the room-leaving-for-peeing guy!!!

You can find both The Rockford Files and Kolchak: The Night Stalker on Netflix Instant. So, what are you waiting for? Go watch them! They’re both GREAT! Also, get your ass to iTunes and rate the podcast and subscribe now please!

Next Week: We’re back to the big screen, with an action flick featuring the great Hulk Hogan! It’s The Ultimate Weapon!

Treatment 85 – Posse

Too bad for you that the full-length version of Critters that was on YouTube got yanked by NBC/Universal, because that means we covered this movie instead. Ugh…

Yep Billy Zane is back, this time as a pirate-faced cowboy chasin’ after gold stolen by a bunch of black soldiers (and Stephen Baldwin). The film is a sort of western pastiche, more than an actual western. Or is it a series of short films? Hell, I don’t know. All I know is it’s chock-full of “that guys,” and Nipsey Russel only gets one line.

SCRATCH YER CRAW… as Matt calls forth all of his incredible improv and acting talent to artfully mimic a person that doesn’t exist and that no one ever dreamed of!!!

WALK THE LINE… of racial harmony, as Marc skates dangerously close to being offensive (according to the other guys)!!!

SADDLE UP…as Doug and Kirk discuss the merits of Roger Waters‘ latest film!!!

As always (and sometimes to our detriment) this week’s film is streaming on Netflix! You can find it there, if you are short on reasons to kill yourself. Turns out, if you have Amazon Prime, you can also stream it for free there! If you’re feeling really desperate, pick up the DVD! You can find all the amazon stuff that’s available in our store! Then head over to iTunes and please leave us a rating! Then subscribe to the podcast to be ready for next week’s episode!

Next Week: The IN-ZANE JULY-LUM is packed with lunacy as we close out this abject failure in film themes with another TV episode! This time, we’re checking out an episode of Murder She Wrote that featured Billy Zane, called A Very Good Year for Murder (season 4, episode 17)!
