Treatment 135 – Jem & GI Joe

Our summer of television, that we’re calling Summer Reruns, continues! We did sci-fi, we did action, so now we’re remembering two after school classics!

Jem & GI Joe!!!

Both of these were requested, and both are amazing in their own special way. Of course, I can’t really talk much about it, since I ended up not watching these in time for the show. In the words of Rick Perry: “Oops.”

THRILL… as we reveal the utter slackitude of one of the guys (it’s Marc)!!!

GASP… as Matt reveals his confusion about the difference between a boat and a car!!!

WONDER… at the continued adventures of the Cool Sandwich Bros and the Pink Ladies to their T-Birds, the Hot Pizza Sluts!!!

As always, these shows are available on Netflix Instant. Also, please head over to iTunes and drop us a review, it would be much appreciated! If you’re from another country, we need a heads-up that you wrote us a review, so we can read it on the show. If you’re a Stitcher user, we would very much appreciate you adding us to your favorites, and giving us thumbs up!

Next Week: Summer Reruns come to a resounding close, with a return to Kolchak:The Night Stalker (Episode “Mr. R.I.N.G.) and a very special visit to The Rockford Files (Episode “The Hammer of C Block”)!!!

Treatment 105 – He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special

skeletorAnd, we’re back with yet another Christmas offering! But don’t worry, it’s not a repeat of last time’s awful Power Rangers nightmare!

This time we bring you the very best in Holiday Schlock, with another He-Man & She-Ra mashup! And while He-Man and She-Ra have top billing, the real star of this episode is our personal favorite…Skeletor!

He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special

It’s a fun one, with Hordak, Skeletor, Orko and all the usual weirdness in full swing…and a bunch of sappy yuletide lessons to be learned as well! They even throw in some new toys…er…I mean characters!

FLEX… your funnybone as Marc opens the podcast hopped up on Christmas cookies!!!

SMASH… the gigantic robots of boredom as Matt introduces a new podcast, The Podcast Dudes!!! (No, not really.)

HUG… your inner snuggly, blue robot dog as Doug and Kirk discuss “deep Frenching!!!”

As always, find any movie we cover on Netflix Instant so you can watch it before listening to us rip it apart! We also found it on Amazon, and popped it into our store, for your convenience! You’re welcome! When you’re done thanking your lucky stars for us, please be sure to drop by iTunes and rate the podcast 5 stars! If you write us a review, we’ll be sure to read it on the show! THANKS!

Next Week: We round out the year with our annual wrap-up awards show, known as The Schlockies!! Brace yourself, as we  choose our favorite and least favorite films of the year!

Treatment 62 – He-Man She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword

“Uh…is that your sword poking my back?” “It’s a secret.”

Everything you fondly recall about your childhood is a lie. The truth is, when you were a tiny little tyke, you had some really shitty taste. This week, we decided to revisit a childhood favorite in the form of a Filmation animated feature/first five episodes of a new series.

He-Man She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword

The secret of this sword, is that it’s a cheap knock-off of the He-Man series, but aimed at girls in the most shallow way possible! We have rip-offs of He-Man characters, only the worst traits seem the most amplified. But, don’t worry, all of your favorite old characters are still there (except Orko) to reassure you that He-Man really wasn’t much more than a giant commercial.

CRINGE…at Marc‘s Cringer impression. It’s not a bad impression, Cringer’s voice is just that hard to listen to!!!

TRANSFORM… your day, as Matt describes his favorite character, Arnold Hordvak!!!

HURL INSULTS… at your MP3 player, as Doug hurls idiotic insults in his best Skeletor voice, and Kirk does his best impression of a horse!!!

If you want to shatter childhood illusions, you can find The Secret of the Sword to stream instantly on Netflix Instant! You can also find it available for digital rental from Amazon through our store! So watch it today, and then join us as we talk about what He-Man toys we had as kids! Also, be sure to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, and join us for next week’s episode!

Next Week: Holy shit, y’all! We are super excited that Enter the Ninja is streaming again!! We’ll talk Sho Kosugi and Franco Nero next week!

Treatment 43 – Xanadu

What can we say about this week’s movie, except maybe: What. The. Fuck?!?!

This film is a bit hard to pin down. It’s certainly unlike any we’ve done so far. It’s not sci-fi, it’s not horror, it’s not sword and sorcery, it’s not chop sockey, and it’s not an action fest. It defies every genre label we have yet used! So, I guess we had to add “musical” and “fantasy” to the tag listings to help pin this one down. But also “cartoon” (part of it) and “roller skating!” Intrigued yet? How about tossing in Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly, and the Electric Light Orchestra?! SOLD!

SKATE… through a series of obscure references, as Matt explains every joke!!!

GLOW… with the joy of twelve year-old humor, as Kirk and Doug discuss Gene Kelly‘s years in the Navy!!!

SING… along with everyone, as they all (at least once) break into song at some point in this episode!!!

It’s all there, and so much more! There are shout outs, and call backs, and totally off topic side tracks! Everything you’ve come to expect from the podcast! You can find the movie on Netflix to Watch Instantly, and you can also find it streaming on Amazon through our store! Also, check the store for the DVD or to download the totally rad soundtrack!

Coming Next Week: Many Schlockers are eagerly anticipating Streets of Fire! It has Willem DaFoe, Diane Lane, Rick Moranis, and Michael Pare…among many more! Be sure to queue it up!
