Treatment 136 – Rockford Files & Kolchak:The Night Stalker

SummerRerunsLike all summer vacations, even the very best must come to an end. Yes, this is the last of our Summer Reruns series. But, don’t worry, because we’re ending on a high note with two classic TV shows!

The Rockford Files & Kolchak: The Night Stalker

We’re watching The Hammer of C Block (TRF), and Mr. R.I.N.G. (K:TNS) episodes of our chosen shows. One show is just too awesome not to cover, and the other is too amazing (and popular) not to revisit! Yep, James Garner and Gavin McDavin are in a battle for the hearts of the Schlock Jocks, and they both win…big time!

THRILL… as Marc slips more controversial humor into the show (it wasn’t intentional)!!!

GASP… when Kirk reveals he married a shotgun!!!

SWOON… when Matt makes an unexpected exit, and Doug reveals the he’s the room-leaving-for-peeing guy!!!

You can find both The Rockford Files and Kolchak: The Night Stalker on Netflix Instant. So, what are you waiting for? Go watch them! They’re both GREAT! Also, get your ass to iTunes and rate the podcast and subscribe now please!

Next Week: We’re back to the big screen, with an action flick featuring the great Hulk Hogan! It’s The Ultimate Weapon!

    1. Is there a fly buzzing around in here? Does anybody else hear it buzzing about itself? Man… WHAT A COOL, KICKASS FLY!!!!!!!! A thousand points to Ryan. Minus a hundred points to everyone else.

  1. The image that stayed with me from that Rockford Files episode is of the lawyer drinking water out of some weird paper envelope thing instead of a cup. I don’t know if that’s just something people did before plastic cups were invented or if it was meant to be a quirk of that particular character.
Great episode, sorry to hear you won’t be doing any TV shows for a while. Next time you do, I highly recommend the “punk rock” episode of Quincy ME, “Next Stop: Nowhere”, if you haven’t seen it already.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion, Toby! We will certainly take it into consideration as we had a lot of fun covering these TV shows. There are many more we wanted to cover this time, but just not enough days in the month. I like anything with punk rock in it, especially Avril Levigne or Green Day, the hardcoriest punk rockers that ever punkrocked this punk rock we call Earth.

Speaking of Green Day, there is a scene in Soylent Green where, painted on a wall in the background, you can see the phrase “Tuesday is soylent green day.” I always wondered if that’s where Green Day came up with their cool name. Also, fuck Green Day. Fuck them with an Avril Levigne shaped concrete dildo.

      1. I’d like to point out that there is a 21 Jump Street Episode where they have to go undercover at a punk show and it features Jason Priestly from Calendar Girl fame.

      2. You’re welcome. I was never a fan of Green Day but I suppose I would have some begrudging respect for them if they referenced something as cool as Soylent Green. Avril Lavigne is another matter. When Soylent Green comes true I’ll be content to be euthanized like Edward G Robinson to the sound of “Sk8er Boi”, if it was accompanied by a video montage of forests, rivers, wild deer, etc.

    1. That’s because Aggressive Kirk now posts on every post. He’s gone from begging for comments to commenting for beggars. Or something like that.
